I wrote this song almost 10 years ago at a time when I was very frustrated with the lyric quality of country music I was hearing on the radio. I told myself “surely you can do better than this stuff about tailgates, big tires, bikini's, and beers” (though I do like beer:). So, I set out to write a song with thoughtful lyrics but also found myself mocking in a less than flattering way - which I did attempt to tone down a bit. This song is a relationship breakup song - and I realized it is autobiographical. This song was about my breakup with country music - it’s a complicated relationship to say the lease.
